More Christmas Displays

Each store we visited had a different display and different story to tell. Here are some more of our favorite sightings.

Tiffany's on Fifth Avenue highlighted its elegant jewelry against a tiny house.

In the house we got to peak at the brilliant Christmas gifts.

Classic Tiffany blue was in each room.

What a clever way to draw your attention to the gems and jewelry.

Each room was miniature and highlighted the precious jewels.

Meanwhile, Bloomingdale's got the help of performance troupe Cirque du Soleil to add an imaginative flair to their miniature circus.

Masked wrestlers tumble about.

Bergdorf Goodman Display

One of the more magnificent displays we came across was in the windows of the Bergdorf Goodman department store. Located just below Central Park, it is a shining example of an elaborate, imaginative store display. The underlying theme of this particular display was a night at the theater, shown in numerous windows that take up nearly an entire city block. The viewer is taken through a journey window by window that snapshots the story of this imaginary night at the theater. We saw performers on stage, the musicians in the orchestra pit, and even patrons in the balcony watching the performance unfold.

It was cool to see the creativity and detail that are included in each and every window display.

Lining up to see the displays.

Borrowing opera glasses in the balcony of the theater.

Deer usher.

Sophisticated theater goers.

Amazing detailing everywhere.

Sneaking a smooch.

Now, we are on the stage with the performers.

Such lovely 1920's era dresses and inspiration on each mannequin.
This window was particularly surreal. The viewer got an overhead view while the whimsical band played in the orchestra pit.

A flapper style dress in an all white, feathery room.

Storks, swans, and birds filled this window.

Women on stage with many smaller performers in the background.

Swinging from the rafters.

An elaborate dog trainer.
Sit. Stay. Balance cups.

Trained musical seal.

What an amazing headpiece.

A view from across the street.
The men's section wasn't as grand, but still had some sharp looking displays. And lots of monkeys playing instruments.

It's Christmas time in the city...

Since the beginning of winter, we've been delighted to see the way that New York City transforms itself into a Christmas wonderland seemingly overnight. Every street corner and store display turns from crisp autumn browns and yellows into spirit-filled Christmas reds, greens, and snowfall whites. The main attraction for Christmas displays in New York is the busy thoroughfare, Fifth Avenue. It's right next to Rockefeller Center, so a stroll through Midtown Manhattan with a warm eggnog flavored latte, a thick wool scarf and loved one to hold close can make for a charming New York evening.

Now all we need is some fluffy snowfall and it truly would a winter wonderland.

A gift wrapped building.

A building behind Grand Central Terminal lit up for the holidays.

Saks on Fifth Avenue had a light show projected on the side of their building.

Yeti sighting!

A twinkling star to guide the way.
